We were at Scone last night and enjoyed the whole show but the highlight was definately Mighty Atlantic and Going Home. Both brought tears to our eyes, the raw emotion really touched our hearts. Mighty Atlantic was the topic of conversation with everyone after the show, does he know how well he sings!!!! Hope they keep both in the setlist.
Thanks for a fantastic night, June and Annika.

Hi Bruce

Had a great time at Scone Palace yesterday and, for me, the highlight of the day was your performance of "The Mighty Atlantic"; it really was quite spine-tingling. Dedicating it, as you did, to our forefathers who had done the crossing, made it particularly poignant. We were in Nova Scotia this summer (first time) and learned a lot about the travails of the immigrant Gaels so it really did hit home.

We were most impressed with Nova Scotia, and especially Cape Breton - the people, the places, the culture - and we would love to go back. You have much to be very proud of. xxxx

Loved your show in Tønder thursday night. And that son of yours, what a talented young man. I am sure, that we will see more of him in Tønder in the years to come.
Congrats on your album as well.
Not what we`ve expected, but better.
Wish you good luck with "No final..." and see you soon in Odense.

Cheers

Hi Bruce!
Thanks for the great performance you and Dylan gave at the Tønder Festival on Thursday - the reviews in the press are overwhelming and well deserved!
Too bad we won't be in Scone tonight - only in our thoughts!!
Wish you a "good one"!!
See you back in Denmark next week!
Love from Inger

Hey Bruce, I am Ron DiPersio's son. I grew up listening to your music, it has always relaxed me. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, and can't wait for your new album to come out. Hopefully I'll get to make it to one of your shows some day.

Born and raised in Cape Breton but living in Hong Kong for the past 20 years, I try to stay close to my Celtic roots as much as I can. I travel to Scotland quite often with one of my recent visits being last year when I caught Runrig performing at the Edinburgh Castle. Amazing event....and what made it even more amazing was that it was only then that I realized that you were the same "Bruce" I seen perform a couple of times in Cape Breton over the years when I was back visiting the folks ('duh'). Just wanted to say thx and congrats on all the great music, talent and success.... and for making us Cape Bretoners, no matter where we are, so proud. See you at the end of the month at Scone Palace.

But thank God for Bruce Guthro!

Hi Bruce
Its a wee while since I properly checked out your site and its such a shame so few of your messages are from Scotland. I live and work in Iain's home-'county' of Fife and come across Iain's relatives and old school chums occasionally with some interesting stories!! Been a Runrig fan for longer than I care to admit but was a small child when I first heard them!! Listened to -and love - your solo stuff since you joined Runrig. Can't wait for Scone Palace and I'm thinking of Malcolm everyday in the hope he will recover enough to be with us all.
I hope this message finds you well and that the family can come to Perthshire ( and hopefully Fife also - just short trip away I'm sure you've been told!) with you to enjoy all we have to offer.
You and your music - with Runrig and solo - bring much joy. Many thanks

Jo

Hi Bruce,

So, my sister is in PEI for her friends wedding (I am writing this on July 18/09) and the next night her friend (Kelley) was playing a gig at some pub/hall there in PEI and I got an email from my sister saying "Hey, I was at Kelley's gig last night. Man can she belt out the tunes. And then this guy got up and sang House of the Rising Sun. He was so awesome and Kelley got to sing with him...he is really well known here and in Europe" ...Well, my sister was so blown away by you, and I emailed her back "Was it Bruce Guthro?", so I got a simultaneous email and phone call from them dumb founded that I knew straight away that it was you, and man, was Kelley thrilled to have met you and to have been on stage singing with you, it blew her away. So, needless to say, I was pretty bummed not to have been there myself, and having since checked your concert dates, will have to try to plan way ahead to next summer when I can hopefully make a trip of my own to the Maritimes to catch your show myself. You have such an amazing talent. I sure wish you could make it to the West Coast more often. So, cheers for now and all the best for continued success.

Thanks for a lovely evening in Hunter River, with songs and music in the top, and beautiful musical surprises, we love your voice, singing and music. A great sound and an audience which was very supplied. It was a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful tour of Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island, with lots of music, beautiful people and a breath resolved beautiful scenery and natur.
